Job summary

The role is full-time, with QTS or equivalent required, an Enhanced DBS, and a commitment to safeguarding. November 2026 start; salary at MPS/UPS.

You will work with the PE department to plan and assess, communicate with parents, and support a positive, inclusive sports culture across the school.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of physical education, sports, fitness, and the principles of safe and effective physical activity.
• Previous experience teaching PE or working in an educational setting is desirable.
• A relevant teaching qualification, such as QTS, or equivalent recognised teaching status.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Understanding safeguarding and child protection procedures, with a commitment to student safety.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons for students across relevant age groups.
• Teach a range of physical activities and sports to develop skills, fitness and teamwork.
• Create an inclusive, stimulating learning environment encouraging participation and sportsmanship.
• Differentiate lessons to support varying abilities, including SEND.
• Ensure safe use of equipment and facilities, following health and safety procedures.
• Promote positive attitudes towards activity, resilience and fair play.
• Collaborate with the PE department to develop resources and curriculum planning.
• Communicate progress with parents and carers as appropriate; adhere to safeguarding policies.
