Rochdale Town Hall is seeking an outstanding Nursery Class Teacher for a part-time maternity cover. The role is a fixed-term maternity contract, with 8.30am–12.00pm, Monday to Friday, in a warm, inclusive school community. You will lead Early Years education with a focus on play-based learning and EYFS development.

You will work closely with teaching assistants and the EYFS team to monitor progress, plan next steps and build strong relationships with parents to support children’s early learning.

Qualifications

• Excellent classroom practitioner with strong EYFS understanding.
• Passion for early childhood development and learning through play.
• Thorough EYFS curriculum knowledge including assessment & progression planning.
• Ability to provide a nurturing, inclusive environment for every child.
• Focus on developing communication, language, literacy, math and social skills.
• Plan learning opportunities tailored to individual needs and progress.

Responsabilités

• Plan and deliver high-quality teaching in Nursery following EYFS and school curriculum.
• Create an engaging, inclusive learning environment with play-based activities.
• Observe and assess children to plan next steps and support progress.
• Support language, literacy, maths, physical development and social-emotional growth.
• Establish routines and promote independence and readiness for Reception.
