Job summary

Early Years Academy is recruiting a Qualified Nursery Practitioner in Cookham, Berkshire for a nursery posting. This role is open to Level 2 or Level 3 Nursery Practitioners, with a salary up to £31,000 per year depending on qualifications and experience.

You will support babies, toddlers and preschoolers, deliver engaging play-based learning, and work within EYFS guidelines to promote safeguarding and development.

Qualifications

• A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years suitable for the role.
• Experience working with babies, toddlers or preschool children.
• Good understanding of the EYFS.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
• Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging learning activities.
• Willingness to continue learning and develop professionally.
• Experience supporting children with additional needs would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and early education for babies, toddlers and preschool children.
• Support children's learning and development in line with the EYFS.
• Plan and deliver creative, age-appropriate learning experiences.
• Encourage independence, confidence, communication and social skills through play.
• Observe, assess and record children's progress and identify learning needs.
• Support children with SEND and promote an inclusive environment.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming and nurturing nursery environment.
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers.
• Work with colleagues to ensure consistency in care and education.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies.
• Support personal care routines, including mealtimes, hygiene and rest.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
