Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer Lecturer to deliver hands-on engineering education within a further education setting in Yorkshire and the Humber.

You will blend practical workshop sessions with classroom-based theory, plan lessons and assessments, and provide timely feedback to learners aiming for industry qualifications, while maintaining a safe workshop environment and embedding current industry practice.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering qualification and practical teaching experience.
• Experience delivering workshop-based and classroom-based teaching.
• Ability to plan lessons, schemes of work and assessments.
• Understanding of health and safety in workshop environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical and theoretical mechanical engineering lessons to FE learners.
• Plan lessons, schemes of work and assessment materials.
• Assess learner progress and provide timely feedback.
• Prepare learners for industry-recognised qualifications.
• Maintain a safe, well-organised workshop environment in line with safety requirements.
• Embed current industry practice and standards into teaching.
