Job summary

Bright Star Talent Limited is recruiting a Maths Teacher to join a secondary school in Ladywood, Birmingham. You will plan and deliver lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills while preparing them for GCSE examinations.

The ideal candidate holds QTS or an equivalent qualification, has experience teaching Maths to secondary pupils, and can differentiate work to meet the needs of all abilities, including SEND.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Maths in a secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of KS3 and GCSE Maths curriculum.
• Ability to break down complex concepts into clear steps.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting pupils of all abilities.
• Good communication and collaboration with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering well-structured Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teaching topics including number, algebra, geometry, statistics and probability.
• Developing pupils' confidence in calculations, mathematical reasoning and problem solving.
• Supporting GCSE preparation through revision, exam practice and targeted interventions.
• Using questioning and assessment to identify misconceptions and adapt teaching.
• Providing clear feedback that helps pupils understand their next steps.
• Differentiating tasks and resources for pupils with varying abilities, including those with SEND.
• Maintaining consistent classroom routines and following the school's behaviour policy.
• Tracking progress and sharing relevant information with colleagues.
• Working with the Maths department and support staff to meet pupils' learning needs.
