Job summary

Paxman Academy in Colchester is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support students with SEND and help them access numeracy and literacy activities. The role runs 32.5 hours per week across term-time plus INSET days, with an 8:30am-3:30pm pattern.

You will work with individuals or small groups, in collaboration with teaching staff, promoting positive behaviour and developing independent learners. A positive, proactive approach and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Proactively supporting students with activities to enhance numeracy and literacy.
• Supporting SEN students in gaining the ability to utilise IT in the classroom.
• Promoting positive behaviour, raising esteem and encouraging an aspirational culture.
• Working with individuals or small groups in collaboration with teaching staff.
• Fostering independence for SEN students.
