Job summary

Gaskell Community Primary School in Bolton is seeking an enthusiastic and outstanding Classroom Practitioner to join our KS1 team on a fixed-term contract from 22 February 2027 to 31 December 2027. ECTs and experienced teachers are warmly welcomed to apply.

The successful candidate will join a friendly, supportive, and high-performing teaching team dedicated to delivering a broad and balanced curriculum to our children.

Qualifications

• QTS or expected QTS prior to January 2027.
• Experience teaching Key Stage 1.
• Experience with EAL or SEND learners in an inclusive setting.
• Strong understanding of the KS1 National Curriculum and assessment methods.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
• Evidence of recent, relevant professional development.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured, ambitious lessons across KS1 that meet the needs of all pupils.
• Set high expectations for learning, progress and conduct, including pupils with SEND/EAL/disadvantaged pupils.
• Use a range of teaching strategies and digital resources to stimulate learning and deepen understanding.
• Assess, record, and report on pupil progress in line with school policies.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to pupils to guide next steps.
