Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for Finchale Primary School to join a warm, friendly school community. The role is 18.5 hours per week, term-time only plus two additional weeks, with a start as soon as possible due to the vacancy from 09.11.2026.

You will contribute to delivering a broad curriculum, maintaining high expectations in achievement and behaviour, and building strong relationships across the school community.

Qualifications

• Qualification meeting the approved 'full and relevant' criteria for Early Years.
• Inclusion in staffing ratios.
• Excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations of achievement and behaviour.
• Ability to build lasting positive relationships within the school community.
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment systems.
