Job summary

Redborne Upper School and Community College is seeking an inspirational Head of Physical Education. This full-time, permanent post starts January or September 2027 with a salary of MPS/UPS depending on experience plus a TLR2F £8,913.00.

The successful candidate will lead a high-performing PE department, teach GCSE PE and Sport, and may teach A Level classes depending on uptake, ensuring outstanding provision and progress for all students.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or who is currently training and expects to achieve QTS this academic year.
• A passion for PE and Sport and an understanding of the National Curriculum at KS3 KS4 KS5.
• The ability to teach PE at GCSE and/or A Level.
• Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
• Ambition and a clear vision for growth and success of the subject.

Responsibilities

• Excellence in Teaching: deliver high-quality, engaging PE lessons for all students.
• Pastoral and Academic Oversight: track progress and intervene to maximise attainment.
• Contribute to assessment and feedback culture and drive departmental standards.
