Job summary

Academics is assisting a high-performing secondary school in Wokingham to appoint a Geography Teacher. You will plan and deliver Geography lessons aligned with the national curriculum and engage students of varying abilities to foster a love of Geography.

The ideal candidate holds QTS, demonstrates excellent communication and behaviour management, and can inspire learners with thoughtful feedback and strong organisational skills. The role is permanent, full-time, with school hours 8:30am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge and genuine passion for Geography.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Make geographical concepts accessible and engaging for students of different abilities.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to inspire a love of Geography.
  • Assess students’ understanding through classwork, homework, and formal assessments.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support students’ academic progress.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
