Job summary

Tradewind Education is seeking a dedicated Teacher of General Science to join a Barnsley secondary academy on a temporary, full-time basis starting mid-September 2026. You will teach KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons that promote curiosity and achievement.

Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher, you will plan, assess, and adapt to meet diverse needs while upholding safeguarding and academy policies.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Ability to plan, deliver and assess General Science across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Strong classroom management and ability to engage learners.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
• Assess, monitor and record student progress with constructive feedback.
• Adapt teaching to meet learners' needs and diverse abilities.
• Create an inclusive learning environment and promote excellent behaviour.
• Support students in achieving potential and contribute to departmental initiatives.
• Attend meetings and professional development activities.
