Job summary

Telford-based secondary school is seeking a dedicated French Teacher for a rolling contract starting September 2026. The role involves delivering engaging French lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4, with responsibilities including assessment and supporting student progress.

The school offers a supportive environment, strong language department, and access to teaching facilities; Tara Recruitment will provide ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• A degree in French, Modern Foreign Languages or a related subject.
• Experience teaching French at secondary level.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for language learning.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging French lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Assessing, monitoring and supporting student progress.
• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Encouraging students to develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
• Maintaining high standards of behaviour and achievement.
• Contributing to the wider Modern Foreign Languages department and school community.
