Job summary

GLL is seeking a Fitness Instructor at Hendon Leisure Centre in Brent Cross on a flexible, part-time basis. You will inspire members to train, tailor induction assessments to individual fitness levels and help people achieve their wellness goals.

You'll lead 1-2-1 sessions and group classes, ensure safety, and provide programme cards. The role emphasizes a hands-on, people-focused approach and offers a wide range of employee benefits and flexible working options.

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering fitness guidance and programmes.
• Ability to inspire clients to train independently.
• Strong communication and motivational skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect and check information relating to individual clients.
• Analyse information relating to individual clients.
• Identify and agree smart short, medium and long term goals.
• Plan, instruct and evaluate safe and appropriate exercise sessions.
• Provide 1-2-1 or group inductions and general exercise programmes.
• Teach classes or small group training and receive training to do so.
• Select relevant exercises and design programmes addressing safety.
• Produce programme cards for a range of clients/members.
• Suggest exercise adaptations for individual needs.
• Use progressive teaching methods for client goals.
• Demonstrate a variety of training methods for clients.
• Provide general progression advice for client programmes.
• Assist clients to correct unsafe technique.
• Motivate clients to promote retention and adherence.
