Leading School in Swindon is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join from January 2027 on a full-time basis. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons across English Language and Literature, inspiring students to read, write and think critically while preparing them for GCSE and A‑Level exams.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• A degree in English Literature, English Language or a related subject.
• Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting.
• Ability to communicate enthusiasm for English Language and Literature in the classroom.
• Strong classroom management and assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver inspiring English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stages.
• Bring novels, poetry, drama and non-fiction to life with creative approaches.
• Prepare students for GCSE and/or A‑Level examinations, focusing on progress.
• Develop confident readers, articulate writers and independent thinkers.
• Create an inclusive classroom where students contribute and take risks.
• Use assessment and feedback to identify needs and accelerate progress.
• Differentiate to stretch high‑attaining students while supporting others.
• Contribute to English curriculum, literacy initiatives and enrichment.
