Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join our supportive department in Yeadon. You will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with an opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for experienced candidates.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS, a degree in English, and proven secondary teaching experience. You will foster a positive, inclusive learning environment while contributing to curriculum development and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree in English or related subject.
• Experience teaching English at secondary school level.
• Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for English education.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Ability to motivate, inspire and support students of all abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that engage and challenge students.
• Teach English Language and Literature across the relevant key stages.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing targeted support where required.
• Create a positive classroom culture that promotes learning, respect and achievement.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents, carers and colleagues.
• Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and school events.
