Job summary

Class Act Teaching Services is supporting an Oxfordshire secondary school in recruiting an enthusiastic English Teacher for a full-time, long-term post starting November 2026. You will teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, deliver engaging lessons, and help students develop literacy and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Teach English Language and Literature to KS3-4.
• Deliver engaging and challenging lessons.
• Support students in developing literacy, analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress.
• Prepare students for GCSE examinations.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
• Contribute to the wider English department.
