Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting an engaging and adaptable Teacher of English for secondary schools across Alton. This full-time role covers KS3 and KS4, with responsibilities including delivering a rich range of fiction, non-fiction, poetry and drama, planning, marking and providing feedback to support GCSE English Language and Literature.

Applicants should hold QTS or an equivalent qualification, demonstrate strong classroom management and be committed to safeguarding and high learner

• Be confident teaching English across KS3 and KS4.
• Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver inspiring English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach a rich range of fiction, non-fiction, poetry and drama.
• Develop confident readers, writers and speakers.
• Prepare students for GCSE English Language and Literature.
• Plan, mark and assess in line with department expectations.
• Provide meaningful feedback that supports progress.
• Adapt teaching for different starting points and learning needs.
• Establish a positive and purposeful classroom.
• Contribute to literacy, enrichment and wider school life.
