Job summary

Wayman Education is seeking a committed Teacher of English for a Birmingham secondary school. The role involves planning and delivering English Language and Literature lessons for KS3/KS4, developing reading and writing skills and preparing pupils for GCSEs with targeted assessment.

You will differentiate for SEND/EAL and contribute to departmental planning. The position starts January 2027, is full-time and permanent, with MPS/UPS dependent on experience; salary aligned with school pay

Qualifications

• Holds QTS and a degree or teaching qualification in English.
• Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and classroom management.
• Able to differentiate lessons and use assessment to improve pupil outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Develop pupils’ reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations through assessment and interventions.
• Monitor progress and contribute to departmental planning.
