Job summary

Milk Education is seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant in Shiremoor to support children during key development stages. You will assist the class teacher with engaging activities, promote social and educational development, and help children gain confidence through play-based learning.

Ideal candidates have EY or primary setting experience, strong organisation, and a positive, flexible approach to school life. The role offers ongoing professional development and support.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for supporting young children’s learning and development.
• Experience in Early Years or primary setting is preferred.
• Strong organisational and time management skills required.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with engaging, age-appropriate activities.
• Encourage social, emotional, and educational development through play.
• Promote positive behaviour and help children build confidence and independence.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to help children reach their potential.
