Job summary

Broadoak Academy is seeking a passionate Design and Technology teacher to join from January 2027. You will deliver a broad D&T curriculum, inspire creativity and support students to develop practical skills in well-equipped workshops.

The role offers a 0.6 FTE, 19.5 hours per week, with flexible patterns and strong CPD opportunities. The successful applicant will be a qualified teacher with strong subject knowledge, capable of differentiating for diverse learners and maintaining high behavioural

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher or equivalent teaching qualification with strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology
• Ability to deliver a high-quality D&T curriculum and teach engaging, well-structured lessons
• Ability to plan sequences of learning building on prior knowledge and enable all pupils to make progress
• Ability to differentiate to meet needs of all learners including pupil premium, looked after children, SEND and high attaining students
• Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and professional development

Responsibilities

• Deliver an engaging Design and Technology curriculum and well-structured lessons
• Plan sequences of learning that build on prior knowledge and use assessment to inform teaching
• Differentiate to meet the needs of all learners and contribute to enrichment opportunities beyond the classroom
