Job summary

Harris Academy Chafford Hundred is seeking a dedicated Drama teacher to join a collaborative team. A TLR is available for suitably experienced candidates. The role includes delivering a broad drama curriculum and supporting student development within a strong school community.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
• Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (could be teaching practice)
• Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
• Understand the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students, and of being a tutor
• Know National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, and how to plan, resource, assess

Responsibilities

• Implement and deliver a broad, balanced curriculum and support a designated curriculum area
• Monitor and support the progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor
• Facilitate a learning experience enabling students to achieve their potential
• Contribute to raising standards of student attainment
• Share and support the academy's responsibility for personal and academic growth
• Plan, resource, develop syllabuses and contribute to departmental plans
