Job summary

Protocol Education Limited in Pudsey is seeking a Design & Technology Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential involvement in Key Stage 5. The role emphasizes inspiring creativity, practical skills, and safe workshop practice within a supportive school environment.

The successful candidate will hold QTS or equivalent, a D&T degree, and experience teaching at secondary level, paired with strong classroom management and safeguarding knowledge.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Degree or relevant qualification in Design & Technology or a related subject.
• Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• Commitment to raising achievement and promoting positive student outcomes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of safeguarding practices and educational developments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Teach practical and theoretical aspects across Design & Technology, including areas like Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Engineering where applicable.
• Assess, monitor and report on student progress and attainment.
• Create a positive classroom environment with high behaviour and learning standards.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety in workshops and practical spaces.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement initiatives.
• Support students of varying abilities to achieve strong outcomes and develop a passion for design and innovation.
• Participate in the wider life of the school.
