Job summary

New Park Academy in Eccles is seeking a passionate Teacher of Design & Technology to lead practical learning from KS2 through KS5, integrating D&T/Construction with real-world skills.

You will work in a calm workshop environment, inspiring pupils who have faced challenges, while collaborating with Teaching Assistants and pastoral teams to support their independence and employability.

The role is full-time and permanent, with MPS+SEN Allowance, and starts ASAP; safeguarding checks apply.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher (QTS) is required.
• Experience or strong interest in D&T / Construction.
• Ability to build relationships quickly with pupils.
• Calm, resilient and consistent approach.
• High expectations with flexibility.
• Experience in SEMH or AP desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging D&T/Construction lessons across KS2-KS5.
• Create a calm, structured environment where pupils can succeed.
• Use practical learning to re-engage pupils who struggled in mainstream settings.
• Teach real-world skills to support independence and employability.
• Work with Teaching Assistants and pastoral teams.
• Maintain a safe, well-managed workshop environment.
