Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment is seeking a Computing Teacher for a small independent special school in the Fakenham area. The role involves teaching ICT and Computing to secondary students with SEMH needs in small classes with support staff. Availability ranges from 2 to 5 days per week, with a temp-to-perm contract.

QTS is welcome but not essential; experienced unqualified teachers will also be considered. The school emphasises routine, structure and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience of teaching ICT or Computing to 11–16 year olds.
• Confident with common software packages and basic programming.
• Able to adapt lessons for students with additional needs.
• Available 2–5 days a week.
• QTS welcome but not essential; relevant experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering ICT and Computing lessons for KS3/KS4 in small groups or 1:1.
• Teaching word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and beginner coding.
• Promoting online safety and responsible use of technology in schemes of work.
• Supporting students towards GCSE Computer Science or Functional Skills ICT.
• Breaking tasks into clear steps and tracking progress with the pastoral team.
