Job summary

Teach South Kent is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Art Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Maidstone on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and dedicated teacher to join a supportive school community and inspire students through an engaging, ambitious and inclusive Art curriculum.

The role involves delivering high-quality Art lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5, planning creative lessons, assessing progress and contributing to enrichment

Qualifications

• Must have QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Art within a secondary school setting.
• Passionate about Art and helping students develop creativity.
• High expectations of students and themselves.
• Ability to plan engaging, well-structured lessons.
• Builds positive relationships with students and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Art lessons across the secondary age range.
• Plan and deliver creative, engaging and challenging lessons that inspire students.
• Support students in developing their artistic skills, confidence and individual creativity.
• Teach a broad range of artistic techniques, processes and disciplines.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students achieve their potential.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school and the Art department.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel encouraged to express themselves.
