Job summary

Bradford College invites applications for a Lecturer in Art & Design to inspire and support learners across our creative curriculum. This fixed-term, part-time role (17.5 hours per week) runs until 30 June 2027, with a focus on high quality teaching, learner progression and industry links.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 5 qualification in Art & Design, have a teaching qualification or be working towards one, and demonstrate strong pastoral and curriculum leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Academic or industrial or commercial experience relevant to the programmes.
• Good organisational and administrative skills.
• Experience in teaching/training.
• Experience of student pastoral care and disciplinary procedures.
• Experience of course leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses specified by the Head of Department/Head of School.
• Participate in curriculum development and cross-college marketing.
• Assist enrolment, induction, monitoring and assessment of students or trainees.
• Devise individual learning plans and support learners.
• Be responsible for student discipline, counselling and guidance for all classes.
• Supervise and manage students on placements and offsite visits.
• Act as academic and pastoral tutor to assigned students.
• Promote College regulations, policies and procedures.
• Participate in Course Committee activities.
• Maintain links with employers and training agencies.
• Participate in College Open Days and career events.
• Provide information to parents/employers through reporting systems.
• Assist with costings and materials management.
• Contribute to development of workshops and facilities.
• Undertake additional duties commensurate with the post.
