Job summary

Bradford College invites applications for a part-time Lecturer in Art & Design to join our vibrant creative community in Bradford. You will teach courses specified by the Head of Department, contribute to curriculum development, and support learners through assessment and pastoral care.

Qualifications

• Level 5 Qualification or subject specialism in Art & Design.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards this qualification.
• GCSE 4-9 in Maths or pass a test to demonstrate level 2 ability and then achieve within an agreed timescale.
• GCSE 4-9 in English or pass a test to demonstrate level 2 ability and then achieve within an agreed timescale.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses specified by the Head of Department/Head of School.
• Participate actively in curriculum development; and cross-college marketing activities.
• Participate in enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students or trainees.
• Devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners.
• Be responsible to Head of Department/Head of School for student discipline, counselling and guidance.
• Supervise and manage students on placements and offsite visits as appropriate.
• Act as academic and pastoral tutor to assigned students.
• Implement and promote College regulations, policies and procedures.
• Participate in Course Committee activities.
• Maintain/Promote links with employers and training agencies.
• Participate in Open Days; career events and promotional events on/off College premises.
• Provide information to parents/employers via College reporting systems and open evenings.
• Assist with costings and control of materials when specified.
• Develop workshops, laboratories and facilities as appropriate.
• Undertake additional duties commensurate with the post.
