Job summary

Groundwork South in Heathfield is seeking a Sessional Senior Youth Worker to guide 9-16 year-olds in four-hour nature-based Holiday Food and Fun sessions during school holidays, on-site at Heathfield Youth Hub.

You will provide ad hoc cover for the Green Gardening Group on Fridays, engaging NEET young people in horticultural activities, and work with local services to ensure safeguarding and health and safety. DBS checks apply under safer recruitment guidelines.

Qualifications

• Safeguarding is a priority; adherence to safer recruitment practices is required.
• DBS checks and safeguarding training are required for all staff and volunteers.
• Experience with youth work or holiday activities is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support young people aged 9-16 in four-hour nature-based Holiday Food and Fun sessions at Heathfield Youth Hub.
• Provide ad hoc cover for the Green Gardening Group on Fridays for NEET young people.
• Work with local services to provide opportunities and ensure delivery quality, safeguarding, and health and safety procedures.
