Job summary

Amblecote Primary School is seeking a motivated Cover Supervisor to supervise classes during teacher absences and support high-quality learning experiences. The role is a fixed-term maternity cover with a 32.5-hour week across 39 weeks per year, starting as soon as possible or January 2027.

The successful candidate will have experience with primary-aged children, strong behaviour management, and good literacy and numeracy skills, contributing to safeguarding and inclusion across the school

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged children.
• Excellent behaviour management and high expectations for pupils.
• Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Organised, adaptable and able to use initiative.
• Willing to work independently and as part of a team.
• Committed to inclusion and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during teachers' short-term absence, delivering pre-prepared learning activities.
• Maintain a positive, orderly learning environment.
• Manage pupil behaviour in line with the school's policy.
• Support pupils to engage with learning and complete set work.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil participation and progress.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and act as a role model.
• Contribute to wider school life, including visits and events.
