Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is helping a thriving secondary school in Luton recruit an Art Teacher to deliver a varied Art curriculum across KS3 and KS4. You will plan and deliver lessons that encourage experimentation, independent thinking and artistic expression, with opportunities to work across multiple media and techniques.

The successful candidate will inspire creativity, demonstrate strong subject knowledge, and adapt teaching to a range of abilities while contributing to displays, exhibitions

Qualifications

• Art Teacher able to teach KS3 and KS4
• Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of Art
• Formal teaching qualification with QTS or equivalent
• Experience teaching Art in a secondary school
• Ability to differentiate effectively for a wide range of abilities
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills
• Ability to motivate students and encourage creativity
• Commitment to high-quality teaching and student progress
• ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply
• Overseas-qualified teachers may be considered where they hold an appropriate formal teaching qualification
• Legal ability to work within the UK

Responsibilities

• The role will involve teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with responsibility for planning and delivering lessons that encourage experimentation, independent thinking and artistic expression.
• You will be expected to provide students with opportunities to work across a variety of media and techniques while developing their ability to evaluate and refine their work.
• There will also be opportunities to contribute to displays, exhibitions, extracurricular activities and wider creative projects across the school.
