Job summary

Usk Church in Wales Primary School is seeking an outstanding Deputy Headteacher to join our successful, caring and ambitious school from January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Headteacher, staff, governors, parents and the wider community to continue to build on the school's strengths and shape its development.

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with leadership experience and a commitment to ensuring every child flourishes academically,

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a school setting.
• Outstanding classroom practitioner as a baseline requirement.
• Commitment to inclusion and ensuring pupils with ALN reach potential.
• Strong understanding of Curriculum for Wales and effective pedagogy.
• Welsh language assessment is desirable and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and contribute to school improvement with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.
• Collaborate with staff, governors, parents and the wider community to shape the school's development.
• Uphold the Christian distinctiveness and values within the Wales Church in Wales context.
