Job summary

Hrgo-Recruitment is seeking an Inspector for Sheet Metal and Welding in Bishop's Stortford, England. The role focuses on hands-on inspection of fabricated sheet metal, welded and assembled components, from first-off to final inspection, with a requirement to maintain quality records and generate clear reports.

You will work with AS9102 First Article Inspection standards, use Q-Pulse quality systems, and collaborate with Production teams, while upholding 5S and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of engineering drawings.
• Experience using hand measurement tools (vernier calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Clear communication and ability to use PC/software systems.

Responsibilities

• Complete first-off, stage and final inspections of fabricated sheet metal, welded and assembled components.
• Ensure all work complies with customer requirements and industry specifications.
• Produce inspection reports and First Article Inspection documentation to AS9102 requirements.
• Identify and report non-conforming product and support MRB and RCCA activity.
• Maintain inspection and quality records in the quality management system and keep documentation up to date.
• Measure components using hand tools and verify against engineering drawings.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
• Maintain 5S and keep your area audit-ready.

Inspector- Sheet Metal and Welding (FJ-pepwk) Bishop's Stortford, England

Salary: GBP38228 - GBP38228 per annum

Quality Inspector – Fabrication (Sheet Metal & Welding) - This is a hands-on, shop floor mechanical inspection, quality role inspecting fabricated sheet metal, welded and assembled parts (first-off through to final inspection). The role offers variety and responsibility: and involves stage inspections, non-conformance control, and producing clear inspection reports. You will get the chance to build exposure to First Article Inspection (FAI) to AS9102 standards and use quality systems such as Q-Pulse.

You will be working in a team at this established aerospace company with 5S standards and with close collaboration with Production teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete first-off, stage and final inspections of fabricated sheet metal, welded and assembled components.
• Ensure all work complies with customer requirements and industry specifications.
• Produce inspection reports and First Article Inspection documentation to AS9102 requirements.
• Identify and report non-conforming product and support MRB (Material Review Board) and RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) activity.
• Maintain inspection and quality records in the quality management system and keep documentation up to date.

• Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
• Maintain 5S (workplace organisation) and keep your area clean, neat and audit-ready.

Qualifications (Required)

• Fine-limit technical/inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using hand measurement tools (vernier, micrometer, etc.).
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings.
• Good attention to detail, communication skills, and problem-solving ability.
• Confident using PC/software systems.
