Electrician
Based in Loughton, Essex
£39,000-£40,000 per annum (£48,000 OTE) on a mandatory call out rota plus other benefits.
Van and fuel card supplied.

Regen Solution is currently seeking an experienced Electrician to carry out maintenance works in the Social Housing sector. The majority of work involves reactive repairs in occupied/void properties within the Epping Forest Council area.

Your role and responsibilities:
  • Carrying out inspection, testing, repairs, and installation works of electrical systems in accordance with current regulations and standards such as BS7671.
  • Ensuring compliance with IEE regulations at all times.
  • Filling out electrical installation certifications and forms as required, and undertaking secondary trade tasks as necessary.
  • Maintaining van stock of materials, using delivery services and 'Pod' to replenish stock efficiently, minimizing travel and downtime.
  • Specifying and ordering specialist materials when needed, minimizing waste.
  • Completing material orders, vehicle checks, standby logs, and other documentation digitally via our systems, using a handheld device.
  • Achieving productivity and performance targets set annually and reviewed quarterly.
  • Carrying out risk assessments, reporting unsafe practices and dangerous occurrences, and adhering to health and safety procedures.
  • Meeting customer appointments and completing work on the first visit where possible.
  • Providing advice and guidance to customers and staff, delivering quality workmanship within your trade area without close supervision.
  • Participating in flexible working patterns and standby rota outside normal hours to ensure effective customer service.
  • Keeping up to date with industry developments and maintaining continuous professional development.
  • Demonstrating core values such as teamwork, ownership, commercial thinking, and customer focus.
What you will bring to the team:

Knowledge and skills:

  • Ability to prioritize workloads and minimize unproductive time.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making aligned with company guidelines and goals.

  • Proficiency with basic IT systems and accurate digital record-keeping.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Experience in the building industry, acquiring skills in your trade and secondary trades.
  • City and Guilds qualification level.
  • 5 for electrical installations in buildings & structures.
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394 & 2395 for inspection & testing, and City & Guilds 2382-18 or later for electrical installations BS7671.
  • Relevant current construction skills certification scheme (CSCS) site operative card is advantageous.
  • Full driving license, as a work van will be provided.
  • A satisfactory DBS check is required for this role.
