My client, a leading regional legal practice, is looking to recruit an Insolvency & Restructuring Partner to lead their practice. In this role, you will actively drive growth across the firm through effective leadership that energizes and motivates individuals to deliver excellent client service using efficient regulatory working practices. The team provides expert advice on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious business recovery, turnaround, and insolvency matters for businesses, insolvency practitioners, banks, creditors, shareholders, investors, employees, and individuals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to advise on complex restructuring and insolvency issues.
  • Uphold high standards of service and accuracy across the department.
  • Support the development and delivery of a business plan for the team/group by identifying actions to drive profitable growth.
  • Ensure compliance with firm and regulatory standards.
  • Secure profitable new clients through networking and cross-selling opportunities, while increasing the firm's profile.
  • Create and deliver a pipeline to ensure a continual flow of profitable work for team members.
  • Act to raise the firm's profile across the region and industry.
  • Drive a culture of cross-selling and support business development activities.
  • Ensure the execution of matters for self and the team/group complies with internal policies and procedures to minimize breaches, claims, and client dissatisfaction.
  • Ensure the team/group complies with SRA standards to safeguard clients and maintain practice standards and accreditation.
  • Provide clients with accurate, up-to-date legal advice that considers their circumstances and offers value for money.
  • Maintain data integrity in platforms like Lawsoft, Visualfiles, Worksite, and InterAction by updating them promptly.
  • Actively drive key projects, ensuring targeted deliverables and benefits are achieved.
  • Support recruitment and motivate colleagues, ensuring engagement with the firm's objectives.
  • Set clear objectives for direct reports, manage performance, and contribute to annual salary reviews.
  • Use tools like 1:1s and PDR effectively to maximize team members' skills.
  • Provide coaching and training to develop talent.
  • Scope and price new instructions to achieve target gross margins.
  • Raise invoices upon completion of matters and apply interim billing when possible; invoice disbursements and expenses as incurred.

About you:

  • Robust background in Restructuring and Insolvency (Contentious & Non-Contentious)
  • Exceptional technical proficiency and drafting skills
  • Strong commercial acumen with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience leading teams to meet financial and service delivery targets, with a record of improving financial performance
  • Leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Able to build and manage client portfolios and generate work for self and team
  • Effective workload and resource planning skills
