Job summary

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Insight and Evaluation Lead to shape how we use evidence to improve patient outcomes. You will partner with clinical, operational, improvement and digital teams to set measures, build theories of change and deliver robust evaluations.

  • Develop advanced analytics and AI-focused solutions using agile ways of working.
  • Line manage the Insight and Evaluation team, including planning and wellbeing.
  • Build partnerships with universities and external networks and disseminate findings widely.
  • Provide expert advice to executives on data insight and evaluation and deputise for Head of Data Insights when required.
  • Ensure information governance and data protection across all activity.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Insight and Evaluation Lead to help shape how we use insight and evaluation to improve services and outcomes for patients across the Trust. You'll act as a "researcher in residence", partnering with clinical, operational, improvement and digital teams to set evidence-based goals and measures, build theories of change, and deliver robust evaluations that drive learning and improvement.,

  • Lead the development and improvement of Trust-wide approaches to insight and evaluation, ensuring they are integrated, high quality and deliver practical impact.
  • Design and deliver meaningful evaluations (formative and summative), using mixed methods where appropriate, to understand outcomes, mechanisms of change and what works.
  • Translate complex performance and clinical information into clear, compelling insight using data storytelling, dashboards and visualisations for senior leadership audiences.
  • Work with operational and clinical teams to develop and deliver advanced analytics and AI-focused solutions, using agile ways of working (including Scrum Master responsibilities).
  • Lead and line manage the Insight and Evaluation team day-to-day, including work planning, performance, development and wellbeing.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with universities and external evaluation/research networks, and lead dissemination of findings to a wide range of audiences.
  • Provide expert advice to executives and senior leaders on data insight and evaluation, and deputise for the Head of Data Insights when required.
  • Ensure Information Governance and data protection requirements are met across all evaluation and insight activity,
