Job summary

NHS England is seeking a Security Officer within the Insider Risk team to support monitoring, incident investigations and education on insider risk. The role sits in the CISO function and involves collaboration with senior leads and stakeholders to implement security measures that protect NHS networks and data.

The ideal candidate will work proactively under pressure to meet team targets while delivering quality customer service and maintaining high attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IT security policies, standards, and procedures; ability to utilise a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to ensure cyber security compliance.
• Knowledge of the processes, tools and techniques of information security management, ability to deploy and monitor information security systems, as well as detect, resolve and prevent violations of IT security, to protect organisational data.

Responsibilities

• Monitor insider risk activities and investigations.
• Undertake pre-employment checks of staff and contractors.
• Promote education and awareness of insider risk.
• Review monitoring data to interpret user behaviour and identify threats.
• Support senior security leads during investigations of incidents.
• Engage with managers, Data Protection Officer, investigations, and policy teams regarding insider risk investigations.
• Coordinate communications with the Security Champions community and co-ordinating events and meetings.
