Job summary

Optima Recruitment is seeking an Inside Sales / Sales Support Executive in Leatherhead to join a busy team within the aviation and aerospace sector. You will source aviation parts, quote customers, and manage orders through CRM systems while negotiating with suppliers and customers to ensure timely delivery.

The role focuses on commercial activities, requires strong organisation and communication, and offers a Monday–Friday schedule with benefits. Travel may be occasional.

Qualifications

• Experience in aviation or aerospace sales is required.
• Proficient with CRM systems and sourcing.

Responsibilities

• Obtain quotations for aviation parts and services based on customer requirements.
• Fulfil customer quotations using available stock and/or sourcing materials through approved suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions with customers and suppliers.
• Maintain and manage customer opportunities through CRM systems.
• Ensure all parts meet required traceability and documentation standards.
• Monitor shipments with freight forwarders and suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Investigate and resolve non-conforming material and quality discrepancies.
• Monitor sales performance, revenue and gross margin against targets.
• Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Support wider sales and business development initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure a high level of customer service.
• Occasional travel may be required (less than 10%).

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an Inside Sales / Sales Support Executive to join a leading global organisation within the aviation and aerospace industry.

The successful candidate will join a busy Sales Support team responsible for sourcing aviation parts, negotiating with suppliers and customers, managing sales opportunities, and ensuring orders are fulfilled efficiently and accurately.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous aviation sales experience who is commercially minded, highly organised and confident working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain quotations for aviation parts, materials and services based on customer requirements

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience within aviation or aerospace sales and be comfortable working in a commercially focused, target-driven environment.

You will be:

• Experienced in aviation inside sales or sales support
• Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Commercially aware with strong negotiation skills
• Self-motivated, proactive and driven to achieve results
• Highly organised with excellent time-management skills
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Professional and confident when developing customer and supplier relationships
• Comfortable working with sales data, revenue and margin targets
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other standard business systems

Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous:

• Previous aviation or aerospace sales experience
• Experience processing sales orders
• Knowledge of aviation parts and aftermarket sales
• Experience using Salesforce or other CRM systems
• Experience with Quantum CRM
• Experience using ILS or Aeroxchange
• Experience with parts sourcing, procurement or brokering
