Job summary

Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to support the dispensary and inpatient services at Berrywood Hospital. You will work alongside pharmacists and technicians to dispense and final-check prescriptions, manage medication stock, and resolve issues on a rota basis across wards.

You will provide ward-level support for medicines reconciliation, patient counselling, and discharge coordination, liaising with staff and external providers.

Qualifications

• Current GPhC registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
• NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent).
• Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician status.
• Evidence of recent continuing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and final check inpatient and outpatient prescriptions.
• Carry out the distribution and stock control of medicines.
• Act as rota-based troubleshooter; resolve issues, coordinate discharges and support staff.
• Perform ward-level activities including medicines reconciliation and ward-based supply management.
• Inform patients about medications and provide counselling including self-administration support.
• Liaise with patients, relatives, medical/nursing staff and external providers.
