Job description

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be required to coordinate and attend ward round and other regular ward meetings taking accurate minutes, maintain an effective filing system for patients' records and documentation and ensure that data is input onto the Rio patient information system for patients on the ward.

It is essential that you have RSA/OCR Level 3 in typing or text processing or equivalent qualification or experience, along with a qualification or working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

This is a varied and demanding role and will suit someone who is motivated and conscientious with a flexible approach to work and who enjoys the challenge of working in a busy area and being part of a team.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Understanding of the Data Protection and maintaining strict confidentiality.
Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • RSA/OCR Level 3 in Typing/Text Processing or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Good general education to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Relevant qualification or working knowledge of Microsoft Office including:- Word/Power-point/Excel/E-mail
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Audio typing qualification or relevant experience
Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience in a recent similar role to consultant/senior management level
  • Previous working experience of minute/note taking.
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to deal with various NHS staff and multi-disciplinary professionals and maintain a high level of customer care
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NHS
  • Experience of NHS Bespoke IT systems, RIO, Choose & Book
