Job summary

The Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a temporary Activity Co-ordinator at The Caludon Centre in Coventry. You will deliver and co-ordinate daily social, recreational and physical activities for inpatient mental health patients, mainly in groups, on and off ward.

You will work under an Occupational Therapist alongside therapy and nursing staff, using your empathy, organisational skills and IT abilities to plan weekly activities and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Experience with diversional activities for social/recreational programmes.
• Empathy for mentally unwell people.
• Ability to plan weekly activity schedules and timetables.
• Good IT skills to support record-keeping and activity planning.

Responsibilities

• Work with patients and staff to enable access to a range of activities.
• Engage and motivate patients to participate in activities.
• Identify weekly activity plans and produce visual timetables.
• Maintain resources and stock safely.
• Run daily activity groups on and off ward.
• Keep accurate records of activity and resources.
• Communicate clearly with staff and patients.
