Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking a Computer Science Teacher & IT Integration Specialist for a long-term temporary, full-time post starting September 2026 at a well-established North London preparatory school.

The role covers teaching Computer Science and Digital Skills from Year 1 to Year 8, delivering coding and online safety lessons, and helping colleagues integrate technology across the curriculum. Suitable candidates hold QTS or equivalent and are passionate about edtech.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Computer Science, ICT, and educational technology.
• Experience teaching primary and/or lower secondary age groups.
• Ability to teach coding and computational thinking across a range of age groups.
• Passion for technology-enhanced learning.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Creative and innovative approach to teaching.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Teach Computer Science and Digital Skills from Year 1 to Year 8
• Deliver specialist Computer Science lessons to pupils in Years 5–8
• Develop and deliver engaging lessons covering coding, programming, digital literacy, computational thinking, and online safety
• Support teachers across the school in integrating technology into classroom learning
• Promote innovative and effective use of educational technology
• Help develop and enhance the Computer Science and IT curriculum
• Inspire pupils to become confident and responsible users of technology
• Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress
