Job summary

Erskine Stewart's Melville Schools (ESMS) in Edinburgh invites applications for a Teacher of Computing in the Senior School. The role focuses on Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL and PHP, delivering engaging lessons to S1–S6 and reflecting on practice against the Raspberry Pi Foundation pedagogy.

An immediate start is available subject to checks. GTCS registration or eligibility, and a recognised teaching qualification with a degree in Computing are required.

• A recognised teaching qualification and a subject-specific degree-level qualification.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise workload with good attention to detail.
• Passion for Computing and for promoting the subject to young people.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver appropriate lessons to classes S1 to S6
• Assess student progress via formal and informal assessment
• Report on progress and give feedback as part of the school’s reporting process
