Job summary

Manchester Metropolitan University is seeking an Academic and Study Skills Tutor to join our Learning Development team. You will design and deliver study skills sessions, lead workshops, and create multimodal resources to support student success.

The role supports on-campus and online delivery, with a student-centred, inclusive approach and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. A degree and a teaching qualification (e.g. PGCert or FHEA) are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree and teaching qualification (e.g. PGCert or FHEA) required.
• Commitment to inclusive education and supporting diverse student needs.
• Experience designing and delivering study-skills or literacy sessions.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver study skills and academic literacy sessions within credit-bearing courses.
• Lead and enhance co-curricular offer: workshops, short courses, 1-1 tutorials, online resources.
• Create engaging digital and multimodal learning materials.
• Develop and lead projects to enrich student experience and drive improvement.
• Use reflective, research-informed practice to shape teaching and service development.
• Champion inclusive, student-centred education with stakeholders across the university.
• Respond proactively to changing demands and meet deadlines with high-impact outcomes.
