Job summary

Activate Learning seeks an Academic Support Teacher for Higher Education to prepare, deliver and assess induction workshops and study skills sessions, aiding HE students both in person and online.

You will support a wide range of learning needs, collaborate with faculty, and contribute to a holistic student support approach while working mainly from Merrist Wood with flexible hybrid delivery.

Qualifications

• level 7 qualification in Special Educational needs (SEND) and/or Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) is essential.
• Qualified teacher and experience of support for Higher Education is essential.
• You will be an excellent communicator and have a good team-work ethos.
• Digital literacy and strong administrative skills are essential as HE support can be delivered either in person or online.
• You will be able to be adaptable and be willing to react to change quickly and positively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, deliver and evaluate induction workshops and study skills sessions for students, individually, in small groups or classes, in person or online.
• Deliver training sessions and mentoring staff as required.
• Collaborate with faculty and other support services to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
