Job summary

Yorkshire Water is recruiting an Innovation Technical Specialist to drive water supply and demand innovation. You will shape how we tackle drinking water challenges, identify opportunities, and lead projects from concept to adoption across teams.

Based at our Leeds site with a hybrid work model, the role offers exposure to external funding routes and a pathway for career growth in a dynamic innovation environment.

Qualifications

• Science or engineering degree and 5+ years of experience in the relevant technical area.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Strong learning mindset and ability to adapt to new technologies and challenges.
• Experience in a R&D environment with a track record of delivering innovations.

Responsibilities

• Understand strategic and operational needs and translate risks into opportunities.
• Identify and champion transformative ideas aligned with needs and priorities.
• Lead a dynamic programme of projects from concept to adoption with sponsorship.
• Bring in internal and external expertise to unlock funding and partnerships.
• Embed successful ideas into operations with clear business cases and insights.
• Act as a visible advocate for innovation across Yorkshire Water and beyond.
