Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an Infrastructure Technician in Swindon to support the detailed design of residential, commercial, and leisure infrastructure. You will work on highway, drainage and external works, producing AutoCAD 2D drawings and coordinating with clients and local authorities.

The role offers hands-on training and progression as you develop within a supportive civil engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Some civil/infrastructure experience or placement year.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
• Strong numeracy and written/verbal communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to organise and prioritise workload.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed infrastructure designs for residential, commercial and leisure developments.
• Produce engineering drawings using AutoCAD 2D.
• Support highway, drainage and external works design.
• Work on private and adoptable infrastructure schemes.
• Liaise with clients, council officers and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Attend site visits and project meetings.
• Apply relevant technical standards and guidance.
• Manage and prioritise your own project workload.
