Job summary

Quant Capital is hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to own core infrastructure and security across a modern Microsoft/Azure environment in South West London. The role emphasizes security-first thinking and uptime, with real responsibility from day one.

You’ll deliver projects across infrastructure, automation, and cloud security, handling Windows, networking, identity, cloud, and security end-to-end. Hybrid 2:3 in-office work model.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Windows Server and Windows Desktop.
• Strong networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VPNs, DNS.
• Security-focused with patching and hardening practices.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra, and AD.
• Familiarity with SIEM, MFA, email security.
• Ability to lead an infra team and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day management and support of IT infrastructure services.
• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions.
• Support our primarily Microsoft-based infrastructure, including hybrid cloud and on-premise.
• Oversee server, storage, network, backup, cloud and virtualization platforms.
• Ensure infrastructure availability, performance, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Maintain infrastructure security standards, patching, and compliance requirements.
• Monitor, identify, investigate, and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Manage endpoint protection, firewalls, SIEM, MFA, email security, and access controls.
• Implement and maintain security standards, policies, and best practices.
• Work with third-party security providers as required.

Quant Capital is looking to speak to candidates to join a growing FinTech business based in South West London. Our is hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of core infrastructure and security engineering across a modern Microsoft/Azure environment. This role suits someone who understands scale, cares about uptime, and thinks security-first. Real responsibility from day one.

You’ll deliver projects across infrastructure, automation, and cloud security, while acting as a technical escalation point for internal teams. You’ll work across Windows, networking, identity, cloud, and security — owning problems end to end.

What you’ll do

• Lead the day-to-day management and support of IT infrastructure services.

• Supporting our primarily Microsoft-based infrastructure, ensuring its high availability, resilience, and performance. Both hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.

What you’ll need

• A high level of experience with Microsoft technologies including Windows Server andDesktop, Active Directory, Entra, Hybrid domains, Group Policies, 365, Intune, Teams,SharePoint, NTFS etc.
• Networking - TCP/IP, VLANS, VPNs, Wi-Fi, DNS internal and Global DNS Providermanagement, good level of network hardware experience e.g. Cisco/Fortinet FortiGate.
• Security - this role is highly focused on security with knowledge of the following

• System security hardening, vulnerability assessments and patch management.
• Policy creation and roll out
• Security Best practices across all environments
• Security Compliance - GDPR, PCI, ISO2701
• Working with external Pen Testers
• Antivirus Management - Oversight of incidents and roll out of new policies following bestpractices and adaptation to emerging threats.
• Cyber Security Tools - Management across Endpoints, email, networks, Incident response
• Email Security Management
• Certificate Management - installation and renewal of SSL/TLS certificates on web servers,network devices etc.
• Domain management - both internal and external

• Human Firewall - Have oversight on tools such as Knowbe4 for Staff Training and securityawareness. Work with the Training team to roll out new procedures and materialy
• Ideally some understanding of MS SQL Database administration.
