Description

Infrastructure Engineer, Windows, Active Directory, Hybrid working, 3 days a week in the office, Liverpool.

We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team.

With at least 3-4 years experience of 3rd line infrastructure support you will be responsible for the following;

Main Responsibilities

● Manage and maintain Active Directory, including design, configuration, user and group
management, and security policies.
● Implement and manage Windows Server infrastructure, including installation,
configuration, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
● Design and implement disaster recovery solutions for critical servers and services.
● Conduct regular backups and ensure data integrity and availability.
● Monitor server performance and proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
● Perform system upgrades and migrations according to established procedures.
● Collaborate with the IT team to implement new server technologies and applications.
● Document server configurations and procedures for future reference.
● Adhere to IT security policies and best practices.

Technical Skills needed for the Infrastructure Support role include;

● Strong understanding of Windows Server operating systems (2012 R2, 2016, 2019).
● Active Directory administration, including group policy management, user and group
creation, and security configuration.
● Experience with DNS and file services configuration.
● Working knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
● Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions (Veeam).
● Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
● Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

Core Knowledge Requirements needed for the Infrastructure support role;

● 5+ years of experience in a large 24/7 enterprise and ITIL environment.
● Experience with Windows Server (2012, 2016 or 2019).
● Ability to create/manage Domain Services and configuration including disaster recovery
scenarios, managing security groups, delegation, OU structure, object types, and
attributes.
● Experience with Active Directory, VMWare and Veeam technologies.
● Knowledge of the 3 large hyperscalers.
● Human competencies: teamwork and multicultural awareness.
● Leadership skills: initiative, effective communication, ability to manage workload and
meet deadlines.

Qualifications
● Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
● Microsoft certification (MCSA/MCSE Windows Server), Microsoft Certified: Windows
Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, and / or Microsoft Certified Expert.
