Job summary

BT Group is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer for a security-focused, DV-clearance role. You will join a specialist team protecting critical national infrastructure and delivering world-class secure platforms.

The role is based onsite in the UK and requires DV clearance, with residence in the UK for 10+ years. You will shape monitoring architectures, collaborate with security leads, automate deployment and drive efficiency across a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with using Linux operating systems.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools such as CheckMK, Prometheus or Zabbix.
• Experience with SIEM tools such as Elastic Security, Splunk or Trellix ESM.
• Experience with dashboarding/visualisation tools such as Kibana or Grafana.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural direction for health and security monitoring across a large platform.
• Engage with operational teams to understand monitoring use cases and requirements.
• Collaborate with architects and security leads to ensure design and security compliance.
• Document deployment, maintenance and operational procedures for monitoring tech.

Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

This job role can be based in London, Cheltenham or Ipswich. Onsite (5 days office based). Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing the architectural direction for health and security monitoring technologies across a large platform
• Engaging closely with operational teams to understand their use cases and requirements for monitoring toolsets
• Collaborating with technical architects and security leads to ensure compliance with design standards and security requirements
• Documenting processes and procedures required for deployment, maintenance and operational use of monitoring technologies
• Champion the use of automation and orchestration capabilities to promote efficiency and improve working processes
