Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Location: Slough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

Telent plays a vital role in enabling everyday technology, from internet surfing to transportation. We are recruiting an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, focusing on maintenance and commissioning activities within designated areas including the M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, and A1(M).

Do you enjoy working with a supportive team and using your initiative to solve field problems? Our field teams are essential in delivering and supervising maintenance, installation, cabling, or civils works, helping to keep the nation's infrastructure connected and secure 24/7.

Responsibilities include:

• Attending to cable and repair breaks on copper and fibre cables.
• Completing commissioning of equipment to standard, on time and within budget.
• Addressing equipment issues in Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets.
• Performing general maintenance and testing on fibre and copper equipment.
• Completing documentation accurately and promptly.

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role, with knowledge of fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments. Experience with motorway communication systems, copper jointing, fibre splicing & testing, and a full UK driving license are essential. Must be willing to work overtime or be on call as needed.
